A walkthrough of recent projects — mountain homes, lakefront places, custom kitchens, and builds across Chittenden County. Work I'm proud to put my name on.
A full exterior renovation on an East Charlotte property — all new siding and exterior trim, plus interior finishes throughout. We brought the whole home back to a standard it never had before, from the shell inward.
A custom-designed and built greenhouse for a waterfront property in Charlotte. The client designed it and chose the finishes; we made the work happen with a hand on every detail — big windows, skylights overhead, and a sliding glass door opening to the lake.
A rejuvenation of the porch — a strip of the old stain done with thinner and power washing, then several sanding passes before putting on two new coats of high-quality stain for a brand-new finished look that brought the whole entry back to life.
A full deck surface refinish — taken from chipping paint and rotting wood to a brand-new deck surface. Solid underfoot again and built to hold up to the weather.
The greenhouse in the siding phase — siding and trim going on to finish the exterior. A fully water-resistant ZIP system underneath, with strapping to space the siding off the exterior plywood so it can breathe and won't rot.
A master bedroom fireplace built out from the framing up — curved cement-board substrate hand-troweled with a custom cement finish over the firebox. Done in house, every pass of the trowel laid against the mountain view outside the window.
A floor-to-ceiling master bedroom fireplace finished in a hand-troweled plaster — smooth, matte, with a softly rounded corner transition. Set under a vaulted ceiling with a black-framed window looking out to the twilight, built and finished in house.
Roof trusses standing on a new build — rafters rising to the ridge board and tied at every joint with steel gusset plates. The skeletal frame that the whole roof hangs on, set square against the sky.
A custom-built rustic bench — thick, solid wood, dark-stained, made start to finish in house. One-off furniture pieces are part of the work, built to match the space they live in.
A custom bathroom finish-out — fluted cement wall panels, a backlit arched floating mirror, brass fixtures, and a marble vanity top. Every detail designed and installed to land clean.
A brand-new deck and stair build — light-toned composite decking set under a modern black-post cable rail system. Clean horizontal lines that keep the view through to the trees.
A full exterior refresh on a lakefront property — new exterior finishes and a fresh, deep red-brown deck stain laid across the whole run of the house, with the lake showing through the trees beyond.
The work speaks first, but here's what the people we built it for have to say.
"Working with Max to construct a greenhouse was a pleasure. From concept to completion he brought ideas, skills, tools, and a pleasant demeanor to every day on the job. The end result speaks for itself in beauty and quality."
"Max got us on his schedule within a week of us calling him. He did excellent work and was easy to work with. I'm happy to support a local business and pass their name along to neighbors who may be looking for remodeling projects. We love our new front deck!"
"Full demo and rebuild of two decks on the property, all pressure treated. Dependable, straightforward, and the work holds up. Maxwell tells you what you need to hear."
Whatever the scope, it's handled end to end — with a trusted network of specialty subcontractors brought in where the work calls for it. No gap between trades, no detail dropped. Here's where that work shows up.
New builds that make your dreams real — framed tight, finished clean, and built to current market standards. If you can picture it, I can build it.
Renovations that turn your house into something modern — kitchens, baths, millwork, whole-home remodels. Same care I'd put into my own place.
Landscaping and property design — stonework, grading, planting, and outdoor structures that sit right in the Vermont landscape.
Interior and exterior finishes — siding, trim, and detail carpentry held to the same standard on every job. The parts you touch and see every day, done right.
